Words like "inviting" or "mysterious" are often used to describe the paintings of John Walker and Roxann Moore, a unique husband-and-wife collaboration.  Typically John and Roxann work alternately, trading the painting back and forth in a dozen or more "shifts".  On larger works they are often able to paint simultaneously.

As a subject for painting, architecture has many appeals, from its most basic and abstract forms to the textural detail that gives the viewer an almost tactile sensation. 

Roxann Moore holds a degree in Fne Arts from Howard Payne University. John Walker studied art at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

The couple works with casein, the least used of the four watermedia.  It is one of the oldest painting mediums, dating back more than 1000 years.  Casein is a durable medium that dries so hard that it must be applied to a rigid surface. Every painting eventually receives several coats of high-grade varnish to protect it from incidental handling and air pollution.
